I'm instantly skeptical of people who acclaim products and services over concepts or market-problems they solve. When I hear someone spend several minutes lavishing praise over a brand or product before eventually coming to describe what it does or the problem it solves, I doubt their grasp of the market space and I'm apprehensive of their choices and tastes. In my mind, they shouldn't have any trouble articulating the features if they've spent any time working or researching the space and comparing alternatives.

However, if they're just name-dropping the Gartner magic quadrant leader and praising it for being good without being able to break down the Why, all of the adulation is possibly blind worship because they saw someone "cool" describe a shiny new product eloquently on Youtube. It's unfortunate how many people defer to Youtube for product reviews and the network effect that has on public perception.
